Kent Beck is the author of four books on software development, including Test-Driven Development (Addison-Wesley), Extreme Programming (Prentice-Hall), Refactoring (Addison-Wesley) and Smalltalk Best Practices (Prentice Hall). He is the lead architect of the Ruby programming language, and co-author of the book Learning Ruby. He has also worked with Smalltalk, C++, Java, C#, Eiffel and other programming languages. Beck has served as an advisor to many companies and organizations, including Apple Computer, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Sun Microsystems Inc., and VMware
He is currently an angel investor in Foursquare Labs.
